I’m donating blood for the third time tomorrow, but this time I’m doing what is called “Double Red Cell Collection.” The donations I made in January and March were whole blood.

Anyway, I think I’m going to make this a regular thing. Donating blood as often as they’ll allow. It makes me feel significant. It doesn’t hurt that I’m “saving three lives” either, but to be perfectly honest that has nothing to do with why it appeals to me.

So, anyway, the high school I attend is apparently very big on blood drives. See? I guess this will look good for college. Neat.

Speaking of which, I’m trying out for the Academic Decathlon team next year. I’m looking forward to it, now.

But before that, I need to finish 11th grade. I’m feeling overwhelmed; once the AP tests were out of the way, the teachers dump humongo-fucking-projects on us, and my Spanish teacher is working us harder than ever. I was looking forward to the post-AP lull, so that I could focus on orchestra, physics and precalculus, but bah shit fuck.

Oh, God, and orchestra. I didn’t make chamber; I’m not that surprised, but I’m disappointed as fuck and I feel so discouraged. What’s the point of staying in orchestra if I’m not going to be in the top group? And that there are no re-auditions pretty much leaves me in complete despair. This is the last year I’ll be apart of an orchestra, and it’s going to suck. Not to mention, there are very few people who will be in the same orchestra I’m willing to perform with. And not wholeheartedly. I want to quit orchestra, but I want to be part of an orchestra…and I don’t know what I’d tell my private lesson teacher.

There is so much crap to consider this close to the end of the school year.

When you attend Plano Senior High School, the concept of dead week does not apply. Our first exams are a week from Friday. Hopefully, if these projects work out well, I’ll be exempt from four of my exams. I would be able to rest easy.

I’m really looking forward to the summer; there is AP Physics camp for girls in our district and since it’s sponsored by TI (Texas Instruments), all attendees receive a free TI graphing calculator. And the entire camp is free. And they feed us lunch for free. I guess there weren’t many applicants, because nearly everyone I know who applied is going. It’ll be nice to have friends there (we could totally go shopping afterwards! But I need a job). It’s only a total of ten days, 9am-3pm, and all it really is is exposure to AP Physics material. And to encourage female engineering.

By the way, what’s the deal with the female engineering demand? Someone, please explain.

Okay, okay, back to work on the school shit. We should be out of school by now.
