Hollywood makes me sick.

I stayed home from school today because I was feeling shitty. And it was one of those mornings where I wake up without any will whatsoever to live.

I did crawl out eventually, and just went straight to homework. At least as much as I could manage. I watched Rebel without a Cause, and cried a little. It was good.

Speaking of movies, on Saturday I was watching Attack of the Show on G4TV, and they mentioned the interest that Hollywood has taken on anime. Apparently, rumours are circulating linking Steven Spielberg to Ghost in the Shell in the form of 3-D live action. Leonardo DiCaprio to Akira - also live action.

Oh, but I do believe the Wachowski brothers can pull off Speed Racer - though, I have been disappointed before. I’ll let you know how I feel about it after I see it.

I don’t have much to say (I’m not talking only about the movies - just in general), even though I have a lot of feelings. How about you…any thoughts?

Finally, happy 22nd birthday to my brother.

Anime is taking over the world. which makes me cringe just a bit inside.
but i do believe that hollywood could actually give the genre a refreshing new spin on what people consider what anime actually consists of and/or could be. in other words, look at it more positively or negatively, or more than just a freakish asian obession.

so while part of me will hope to enjoy a movie making of a childhood show, chances are part of me won’t be able to get past the fact that it’s undoubtable anime-ic in style. we’ll have to see. maybe my eyes will be opened.

but yea. that’s my two cents.
